Education and experience
Dr. Patino earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1994 at the University of the Andes in Venezuela, where she was born and raised. She then moved to Buffalo, New York, for her three-year post-graduate periodontics residency program at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She received her specialty certificate in periodontics from that institution in 2001, along with a master’s degree in oral sciences. Dr. Patino has been practicing periodontics and living in the Chicago area for the last ten years.
Continuing education and professional affiliations
Dr. Patino attends several continuing education courses during the year at the local, national, and international levels to keep abreast of the latest research and clinical advances. She strives to provide her patients with the best, most up-to-date care. Her areas of special interest include periodontal and implant-related aesthetics.
Dr. Patino is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Illinois Society of Periodontists, and Illinois State Dental Society. In 2004, Dr. Patino became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the highest attainable academic achievement in the field of periodontics.
Outside the office
Dr. Patino enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and playing tennis. She speaks fluent English and Spanish.
